Centralised social platforms prioritise profits over users, leaving creators with unfair monetisation, brands with costly intermediaries, and consumers exploited without incentives. Opaque algorithms, content censorship, and delayed payouts further restrict user autonomy. Despite Web3’s promise, most platforms remain pseudo-decentralised, failing to ensure transparency, ownership, and fair rewards. A truly decentralised, user-driven social ecosystem is urgently needed.
